Newsletter – April 2023

Thank you to everyone who gave donations and made cakes for us before Easter, the total raised towards the Living Eggs experience was £225, which is absolutely amazing! We are delighted to have raised so much, and we have booked the eggs to come to Preschool on the 15th of May for two weeks! Thank you to everyone who donated money, and those who made or bought cakes, we could not have done this without your support! Further details about the living eggs experience will be sent out soon.

September 2023

We are regularly receiving applications for September from new children and our sessions are filling up quickly, therefore, if your child will be staying with us in September and you would like to increase or change their sessions, please email Rachael asap so we can ensure there is enough space for everyone to have the sessions they require. Please note, we are currently full to capacity so any changes to sessions will not come into effect until September.

 School Transitions

During the summer term, we aim to focus on a smooth transition for the move to school. Our school leavers have already begun their phonics sessions with Sirjana, these will continue throughout the summer term, as well as language groups for the younger children. We provide school role play during the summer term for the children to get used to wearing school uniforms, if anyone has any unwanted school uniform at home they are willing to donate, that would be great! During the summer term, we will be visited by some of the children’s new teachers and they will start to have visits to their new schools. If anyone has any questions or concerns about their child’s transition to school, please speak to their Key Worker.

Labelling

Please can we politely remind everyone to name their child’s belongings, even initials would be extremely helpful! We have 28 children here every day, and we cannot be responsible for keeping track of every single item owned by each child when we have no way of identifying who things belong to. Thank you for your support with this!

Uniform

We have plenty of Preschool t-shirts in stock at £6.50 each, and we can order hoodies on request, hoodies cost £15 and are available in sizes 3-4 or 5-6. If you would like to order some uniform for your child, please email Rachael at 325preschool@gmail.com.

 Preschool Library

The library box is outside every day for the children to choose a book to take home and share with their families. If you would like to borrow a book, please write the details on the form in the library box, and sign it back in when you return it.

Tapestry uploads

It is always lovely to see uploads from parents and carers on Tapestry, we really enjoy sharing them with the children and talking about their experiences at home. If you do anything fun at the weekends or in the holidays, please do share photos on your child’s Tapestry account, the children really love to look at them and tell us what they’ve been up to! Thank you to those parents who have already shared their holidays, activities and days out with us, if you have any questions about how to share photos on Tapestry, please ask a member of staff.

Thank you all for your ongoing support!
